This is the most recent cd from ROCKABYE BABY (and the only reason the tracklist is below) but just because its posted here doesnt make it my favorite actually several previous albums are absolutely fabulous; (Radiohead, Tool, Metallica, and twenty others) Albeit I love the rolling stones but was less impressed with this however still check out and preview the other musical lullaby masterpieces at the website.

I would like to talk about the ‘Grief, Tragedy, and Sympathy Industry”….

The news media are playing a game with you, you’re being fed a large ration of other peoples troubles designed to keep your mind off the things that should really be bothering you I guess the media figure if you’re sitting around feeling sorry for every sick, injured, or dead person they can scrounge up you’ll have less time to dwell on how fucked up your own life is and what bad shape this culture is in. I am not so much opposed to grief as I am to public media grief; my attitude is fuck sick people, and fuck a dead person; unless I know them and if so ill handle it on my own without media guidance to experience sorrow.

Above all I object to the word TRAGEDY. Every time some asshole stops breathing these days it’s called a tragedy, the word is being devalued. Just because a man kills his wife, three kids, her lover, his lover, the baby-sitter, the mail man, the Amway lady and the guy from Publishers Clearing House and then blows his brains out doesn’t mean a tragedy has occurred. It’s interesting. It’s entertaining to read about. But it’s not a tragedy.

The death of a child is not also automatically a tragedy. Some guy backing over his kid in the driveway is not a tragedy; it’s a bad, bad mistake. A tragedy is a literary work in which the main character comes to ruin as a consequence of a moral weakness or fatal flaw. Shakespeare wrote tragedies. A family of nine being wiped out when a train hits their camper is not a tragedy, it’s called a traffic accident.

You wanna know what a tragedy is? A tragedy is when you see some fat bastard in the airport with pockmarks on his face and his belly hanging out and he’s with a woman with bad teeth and multiple bruises, and that night he’s gonna make her suck his dick. That’s a tragedy. They don’t mention that a lot on TV.

I’m tired of emotional pandering, personal drama, and prurient gossip being presented in the context of real news. The media have elevated the marketing of bathos and sympathy to a fine art but I gotta tell ya, I really don’t care about a paraplegic who climbs a mountain and then skies cross country for 50miles, I have no room for a one legged Vietnam veteran who ice skates across Canada to raise money for children’s prosthetics; I’m sick of hearing about a baby kept alive on a resuscitator while doctors wait for a kidney to be flown in on a private jet contributed by some corporation seeking good publicity because they just killed six thousand people in Pakistan with a chemical spill.

If the media is going to insist that we know about sick babies and tap-dancing cripples why don’t they create a special television program called, “Inspirational Stories?” That way I can turn the fucking thing off. I’m tired of people battling the odds. Fuck the odds and fuck the people who battle them.

(FYI, I apologize in advance for anyone who receives a yellow and pink candy cane (not all the cards have mini canes because the drug store recently stocked them, at anyrate these are "jellybelly" canes and I didnt realize that the yellow/red flavor is buttered popcorn, the rest are 'cotton candy', 'peppermint' and 'juicy pear' which is more sour apple then pear--but that buttered popcorn is wretchid. ICK. Yeah so if someone out there actually wants a crapload of buttered popcorn mini canes I'll happily send them..

It would be difficult for me to be any more miserable right now, I feel like the worst person ever. First, let me start by saying that I am truly truly sorry, and I hate myself for hurting you. Of all the people in the whole entire world, you were honestly the last person that I would ever want to wrong in any way. There is no excuse at all or anything that happened, so I won't even try other than to say all of us had WAY too much to drink, and I did a stupid thing. I can handle you being pissed at me, I absolutely deserve it, I can even handle the ugly words that were exchanged between us, what I can't handle is thinking that you see me as a different person. It is weird, I feel like I just went through a horrible break up or something. The world looked funny yesterday, I couldn't crack a smile if you paid me, there are songs I can't listen to, and I just feel beyond crushed. I don't know if you meant everything you said to me, and I am hoping that you didn't. I know that I was wrong on many levels, but I am also hoping that this is something that we can deal with. I know it sounds totally crazy and stupid, but you have come to play such a significant role in my life, I can't imagine my days without you. I hate feeling like you hate me, and I hate feeling like all of your friends think I am a terrible person, because I am not. Thank you for your concern. I'll be sure to file it away under "L" for "Long-winded diatribes from drunken whores I couldn't care less about".

You did a stupid thing huh? No...doing long division and forgetting to carry the one is "a stupid thing"; Mixing in a red sock with a load of whites is "a stupid thing"; Blowing some guy in a bathroom for 45minutes while I sit at the bar wondering if you're taking so long because you ate too much bran that morning isn't as much a "Stupid thing" as it is grounds for permanent removal from my social calendar.

To be honest, I'm not sure if it was more amusing that you went and degraded yourself in a public toilet not once but twice in a 2 hour span, or that you seemed to think that by saying "Well, I didn't F**k him" somehow gave you a clean slate. So forgive me if I couldn't care less if the world "looked funny" to you yesterday. Since your world revolves around blow dryers, golden retrievers, Prada Bags and Jelly Beans, I'm sure it must have been most unsettling to actually have to consider someone else's feelings for 24 hours straight. The good news for you is that my friends don't think you're a terrible person, they just think you're the average run of the mill cum-guzzling blond who commands about as much respect as your average child porn collector. I could be wrong but, it's pretty hard to respect some B&T chick who comes out to spend the night at my place even though she's seeing someone else in New jersey and winds up tongue-bathing the taint of anyone who decides 30 minutes of droning commentary on Colin Farrell's new haircut is worth putting up with for a hand job in the men's room. The good thing about being a guy is that when I eventually bump into the young lad who finger-blasted you on top of a towel dispenser last Saturday, we'll have a shot and laugh our heads off about the time it happened.

By the way, for the amount of time you claim to spend in spin class you really must be doing something wrong to sport the thunder thighs you do. Watching you parade around my bedroom in a thong was a little like watching sea lions mate. Thought you might like to know.

MARSEILLES, France -- Skirt-chasing playboy Daniel Anceneaux spent weeks talking with a sensual woman on the Internet before arranging a romantic rendezvous at a remote beach -- and discovering that his on-line sweetie of six months was his own mother!

"I walked out on that dark beach thinking I was going to hook up with the girl of my dreams," the rattled bachelor later admitted. "And there she was, wearing white shorts and a pink tank top, just like she'd said she would.

"But when I got close, she turned around -- and we both got the shock of our lives. I mean, I didn't know what to say. All I could think was, 'Oh my God! it's Mama!' "

But the worst was yet to come. Just as the mortified mother and son realized the error of their ways, a patrolman passed by and cited them for visiting a restricted beach after dark.

"Danny and I were so flustered, we blurted out the whole story to the cop," recalled matronly mom Nicole, 52. "The policeman wrote a report, a local TV station got hold of it -- and the next thing we knew, our picture and our story was all over the 6 o'clock news. "People started pointing and laughing at us on the street -- and they haven't stopped laughing since."

The girl-crazy X-ray technician said he began flirting with normally straitlaced Nicole -- who lives six miles away in a Marseilles suburb -- while scouring the Internet for young ladies to put a little pizzazz in his life.

"Mom called herself Sweet Juliette and I called myself The Prince of Pleasure, and unfortunately, neither one of us had any idea who the other was," said flabbergasted Daniel.

"The conversations even got a little racy a couple of times.

"But I really started to fall for her, because there seemed to be a sensitive side that you don't see in many girls.

"She sent me poems she had written and told me about her dreams and desires, and it was really very romantic.

"The truth is, I got to see a side of my mom I'd never seen before. I'm grateful for that."

When starry-eyed Daniel asked Sweet Juliette to send him a picture, Nicole e-mailed him a photo of a curvy, half-clad cutie she'd scanned from a men's magazine.

"The girl in the picture was so beautiful, I begged Juliette to meet me on the beach -- and Mom said yes," he recalled. "Mom says she was falling for me, too, and she just wanted to meet me, even though she knew I'd be disappointed when I saw her.

"As for me, I figured I was going to find the girl of my dreams.

"I guess that's about as wrong as I've ever been."

Daniel admits he and his mother could do little but stammer and stutter around each other for days after their cyberspace exploits came to light. And his father Paul -- Nicole's husband of 27 years -- wasn't too happy when the story hit the news and his beer-drinking buddies made him the butt of their jokes.

"Dad was ticked for a while and he forbid Mom to talk to anybody on the Internet ever again," said embarrassed Daniel

This year I've been busy!

Last Sunday I set pinkbandana16's puppy on fire (-66 points). In July on a flight to Pakistan, I stole the emergency flight information card (-40 points). Last Friday I caught a purse-snatcher who stole tigerbaybee's purse (30 points). Last week I donated bone marrow to muzer in a life-saving procedure (300 points). Last Tuesday I pulled over and changed immune's flat tire (15 points).

Overall, I've been nice (239 points). For Christmas I deserve a new dolly!
